DeAndre Applin is a hard-hitting, athletic safety.  He can drop into coverage or play run support in the box.  He has the intelligence to read the offense, and the strength, speed and athleticism to get the job done.

A junior college transfer, DeAndre played in every game in 2017, finishing the season with 46 tackles (2.5 for a loss), three pass breakups, one interception, and one forced fumble.  He was the top returning safety in 2018 and was an all around leader on the defense.
